We are requiring ALL students and our staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be able to come to an in-person class. Students must show their card to a staff member BEFORE entering the building for their first class.
We have lifted our masking requirement, at least for now, but you may certainly continue to wear one.

Puppy Kindergarten
Puppy KindergartenLearn how to build a solid relationship with your new puppy and a good foundation for future dog sports. Develop skills for maintaining your puppy’s attention. Teach basic obedience cues (come, sit, down, stay, and loose-leash walking). Socialize your puppy to a new environment and other dogs and people (puppies will actually get to play with each other during or after at least one or two of the classes, how often depends on the makeup of each class). Discussion topics will vary depending on each group’s needs and interests, but can include how to handle children and puppies; potty training; coping with multi-pet households; solving chewing, housebreaking and jumping problems; and non-medical questions about spaying and neutering and basic care. Please check with your vet as some vets recommend that young puppies should have had the second in the series of distemper vaccinations before attending a group training class, but some are fine with them attending after the initial vaccine depending on age, breed and other factors. Prerequisites Puppy must be between 10 weeks and 4 months old when the class begins. If you have a larger breed puppy the younger you can start the better! Please email info@northfielddogtraining.com with questions. |

Notes: You will need to bring a mat** to class. We will be doing some crate work, so if you have one, plan on bringing it to class at least part of the time. If your puppy is active and likes to bark, bring something to occupy them during down time. You will need lots of small, easy-to-chew, high-value treats (this is from the dog’s perspective; they should love what they are getting). Dogs must be worked on either a buckle or martingale collar, or a harness. ** A mat is some sort of dog bed. If you do not have a dog bed at this time, you can use a bath mat or even a towel to get started—although we would encourage you to get a bed specifically for your dog. Puppies must be between 10 weeks and 4 months when class starts. | ||||||||
