Obedience Fun Matches

The Friday obedience matches typically start at 10:00 AM. Day of match entries are usually accepted, but check the information for a given match before showing up. If the pre-entry is excessively large, we may not accept entries on the day of the match. The Wednesday matches are more variable. Check the schedule for a particular match. The Friday matches usually have 1 Utility ring, 1 Open ring, and one Novice ring. Sometimes, we also have a rally course set up for before Novice. The Wednesday matches usually have just 2 rings. Cost is $5/run-through. To reserve your place, click the Signup button, below, fill in the form, and submit it at least two days before the scheduled date.

Matches require a lot of people power. Without volunteers, we can't hold efficient matches. Judges get two free run-throughs per 1-hour shift. Stewards get one free run-through per 1-hour shift worked. Workers also get priority scheduling.

To sign up to help, fill in the "Volunteer" box on the form below. Let us know what range of time you can work and/or do your runs, if you have a ring preference (Novice/Open or Utility) and a job preference (Judge or Steward). We also need to know if you prefer to work before or after running your dog(s).

Currently Scheduled Dates:

Date Day Start Time Last Runs Notes
8/11/2010 Wednesday 9:30 AM 8:30 PM Please pre-enter via the Northfield website by Monday evening, August 8. We'll have a Utility ring and one Novice/Open rings. Entries $5/run. As usual, I need people to play judge and ring steward. If you notice, there are extremely long hours listed. This is because the last Weds match was so popular AND I had extremely good help!
You will notice that the Signup Form is somewhat different. Please ignore the confusing 'Volunteer Duties' line. It needs to be deleted.
Under 'Level/Class', please list each individual class you want to do, e.g. 'Open Utiliity' (once in each class) or 'Novice Novice' (twice in Novice) or 'Open Utility Utility', etc.
I'm also requesting a time range you can be there, ready to show your dog and/or work AND a preferred time range. I'm hoping this will help reduce questions I need to ask when making up the running order.
The final new question is 'Driving with?' This will help me when new people sign up, so that I know they should be scheduled in the same time frame.

Note: Be sure to check back here the week of the match to verify that it hasn't been canceled.

Judges get two free run-throughs per 1-hour shift. Stewards get one free run-through per 1-hour shift worked.

Pre-entries are accepted up to two days prior to the match. Sometimes we will take day-of-match entries starting at the stated times. This is subject to change - if we get a lot of pre-entries OR don't have sufficient help, we may not be able to accept them.

Note: We have plenty of indoor crating space and the building is heated/air conditioned.
